Burritos big enough to soak up all your boozin’.

The warm glow of late night nourishment

Last time I talked about La Taqueria, where I had the most delicious burrito of my life. But there’s not just one style to rule them all, and other places have other things to offer, no?

Burritos the size of a baby.

Farolito is famous for a different approach to burrito-dom; for having the archetypal ‘Mission burrito’ - an absolutely massive hunt of meal perfectly suited to hopefully save you from an ill-advised night of intoxication.

I went, appropriately, at 1:41am, and it was still plenty poppin’.

There's still a line out the door even at 2am.

Was I drunk? I mean it was almost 2:00 in the morning, what else could I have been doing out so late? Chances are good that I needed it.

There's something to be said for a burrito that can stand up on its own.

I don’t recall being particularly enamored with the flavor. It was more of a curiosity and an experience to be had rather than a revelation in flavor.

Fellow diners digging in.

So, is it worth you seeking out? If you’re out past midnight and want a bite, then it’s awesome.

Even the tacos are piled high with ingredients. It's all about portion size here.

I do have a deep appreciation for restaurants that are open very late. I tend to stay out well into the night just wandering around and taking photos, soaking up the beauty of night, and it’s nice to be able to get something a real meal.

A good menu photo is a must for sharing what's on offer.

So yeah, if you’re out roaming San Francisco well into the evening, why not try out one of the spots that made the Mission so burrito famous? You’ll enjoy it.
